Frontiers High School
Frontiers High School, Isingiro, Uganda
The Costa Foundation’s 56th school project opened its doors to 198 children in February 2016 and celebrated the official inauguration on Tuesday 26th July 2016. Frontiers High School gets its name from the fact that it sits on the borders of Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania. Students from all 3 countries are currently using this school, indeed one of the teachers is from Rwanda. A truly cosmopolitan Costa Foundation funded school.
During the visit a Costa Foundation trustee was able to witness lessons underway and to interact with the teachers at a question and answer session. The teachers were proud to work for PEAS Uganda and were particularly pleased with the teacher training that they receive which includes teacher observation and access to modern teaching techniques. Even the setting up of desks so that the students are facing one another and are able to interact is fairly innovative for Uganda.
The students not only put on a display of singing and dancing but also showed off their sports prowess during a fiercely contested game of Volleyball.
