San Jose la Reunion School
San Jose la Reunion School, Ocotepeque, Honduras
Another remote rural location where the previous school facilities were inadequate and middle school children aged 12-15 were having to share a classroom with primary school children. It is very difficult for primary school and middle school teachers to have to share a room as they struggle to give the children the attention they deserve.
The Costa Foundation has funded 1 large classroom (suitable for middle school children) and a new sanitation block to service the whole school.
A community celebration to commemorate the opening of this new classroom took place on Wednesday 7th September 2016 and was a wonderful opportunity for the children to perform on stage and showcase not only their beautiful traditional costumes but also their very well-rehearsed dances.
