In Uganda, education is recognised by the government as a basic human right. However, issues with funding, teacher training, facilities and the difficulties associated with rural locations, all hinder the progress of the educational system. In particular, girls face much harsher barriers to gaining a quality education, often due to pregnancy and early marriage.
